In her speech at His Father’s Heart Ministries’ Annual Fall Gala, A Celebration of 20 Years, Kristal Scott remarked that it wasn’t her first time to stand on the stage at a banquet to speak about her Journey Into His Father’s Heart. In fact, 10 years ago she found herself doing just that. Little did she know what God had in store for her over the next ten years!
In 2007, Kristal Scott was a single mom working as a teacher when she discovered His Father’s Heart Ministries (HFHM). “I didn’t feel judged when I walked through those doors,” says Kristal. She fell in love with the HFHM mission, and while her own family was separating, she felt like the community was a family for her and her son Isaiah.

When she separated from Isaiah’s father, she moved back home with her parents. “As I witnessed prophecies become reality, my heart took notes,” explained Kristal. She participated in Monday night meetings, book studies, retreats and scheduled HeartSync appointments with Pastor Joey for each Wednesday after work. “This process not only brought up things that I did not know that I was struggling with, but it also helped me to deal with those things.”
Having established herself as a teacher, Kristal went on to earn her real estate license but had a dream of going to law school. The Gentempos supported her dream wholeheartedly – Pastor Joey wrote her letter of recommendation and Denise encouraged Kristal to purchase a gavel so that Kristal could envision herself in the courtroom as a lawyer and judge. “I did buy a gavel,” Kristal laughs. “It was a plastic prop gavel, but it worked!”
Stepping into her Kingdom Self meant stepping out in faith. “I had planned on going to law school part time so that I could continue teaching, but God always has other plans for us,” Kristal points out. “I found out that I was accepted into law school during my first period US history class.” Genuinely happy for his teacher, one of her favorite eighth grade students kept asking if she had sent in her acceptance letter. “I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it, but I took the risk and went full time.”
“Looking back, I have no idea how I kept up with school, worked multiple jobs, took care of my son and graduated with honors,” says Kristal. Despite having a great support system, she would have to take Isaiah along with her to class. Kristal smiles, “I think oil and gas law was his favorite class.” Some nights Isaiah would fall asleep at the library where Kristal both worked as well as studied to achieve her dreams that were now goals to be realized. “When I saw the congratulations that I had passed the bar on my computer screen, I ran down the hallway screaming and crying ‘thank you, Jesus’ because I did not want to have to do it all again.”
Rather than giving in to the trauma of a broken heart, Kristal took the Journey to living her wholehearted Kingdom Self. The Journey was now profusely bearing fruit. Family members, friends and friends of friends came to Kristal with legal questions about real estate issues, estate planning, and business. She initially started her own law practice with plans to work part time while continuing her position at the title company where she was an intern in contracts and compliance, but God had even bigger plans.
On September 16, 2021, His Father’s Heart Ministries opened the doors to its Redemptive Justice Center (RJC), and it was Kristal who assisted with the real estate transaction. Today, Kristal is the founder of Kristal M. Scott, Attorney-at-Law, PLLC and has her own office at RJC. “I am in a position to help others on a bigger level, and I have to use this gift wisely,” says Kristal. She has stepped out in faith and has begun working full-time for her own practice since October 1, 2021.

“I’m so proud of what Pastor Joey is doing with the ministry,” says Kristal. She invites everyone who hasn’t been to the new RJC building yet to come and see it. “It’s amazing how the comfort and peace of the old building transferred to the new building.” Kristal is grateful to Pastor Joey and Denise for believing in her, accepting her and allowing her to share her journey with HFHM.
“My Journey Into His Father’s Heart has not been easy,” says Kristal. “I’ve started over more times than I would have liked to, but I have faith that I am doing what God wants me to do.”
